Zagreb Zoo

On Saturday the 24th of September, the contestants of Zagreb Urban Challenge race will have to once again visit Zagreb Zoo as one of the check points of the race. They will have to find the Homo sapiens cage and another animal or two as the task of surprise. Too keep the challenge interesting and adventurous, the contestants won´t know which animal will they have to find, a wolf, a snake or a lion, until the day of the race.

Urban Challenge is a unique race that combines urban with adventurous and is meant for a wide public – from top athletes to amateurs and students.. The race is divided into two categories: The Challenger category which is 60 kilometres and 5-8 hours long is adapted for experienced and physically better shaped contestants, while the Urban category, a 25 kilometres and 4 - 7 hour long stage is adopted for the rest of the contestants.

Urban Challenge includes the entire city of Zagreb, together with it´s outskirts and mount Medvednica. The race passes through popular cultural, historical, sports and leisure destinations and presents the city of Zagreb as a tourist destination with limitless possibilities. With all the standard disciplines such as mountain bike, mountaineering and orientation, the contestants will also use public transportation – tramways, buses, funicular, cable car. Many disciplines and surprises that will require immediate adaptation are expected, such as karaoke singing, archery, jumping in a pool from a platform etc.
