Zagreb Zoo

Only a couple of days after introducing the new visitor attraction – boat rides around the First Lake, the Zagreb Zoo received an interesting phone call.

A young man by the name of Zoran called the Zoo in order to inquire about the launch of the boat rides, of which he has read in the newspaper. When we replied that the rides start the next day, i.e. May 29^th, we heard a rather disappointed voice from the other end of the line: “Tomorrow?” But Zoran did not give up; instead, he insisted on a ride and revealed the secret behind his persistence – he wanted to propose to his girlfriend.

After all, we could not reject such a romantic gesture. We arranged the time and launched the boats off to a special ride. Zoran waited with his girlfriend Ana, who found it suspicious that there was nobody else riding in the boats, while the oars were being prepared for them. Without too many questions, she sat in the boat and set off to enjoy the ride.

“He proposed to me! The boat ride was a real surprise”, said Ana, after returning from the lake. With a huge smile, she admitted that she suspected Zoran was going to propose, since they have been dating for a few years. “The idea to propose to her, while rowing down the lake, came spontaneously. I thought it would be romantic”, said Zoran, who likewise, did not stop smiling.

“It was beautiful and I cannot wait to see the little monkey!” continued Ana. Here is where we got a bit confused. Afterwards, we realized that Zoran surprised Ana with another gift – he adopted a Zoo animal in her name – a small capuchin monkey.

We have to admit that Zoran and Ana caused us a wave of excitement and joy, and we wish them a happy life with many other interesting and romantic moments ahead.
