Zagreb Zoo

Zagreb Zoo is open for the visitors all year and it is a special feeling to visit in the winter when the forest of Maksimir Park is covered in frost. In order to make the visit to the zoo as interesting as possible, educators created special programmes in winter where they introduce visitors to exotic animals.

This Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 15 hours they will focus on snakes. During next weekends, they will discover secrets of insects and reptiles and discover characteristics of some species, such as antlers and body covers, under the magnifying glass.

Under the motto "touch and learn", visitors will have a chance to get to know reptiles, handle many samples from crocodile skin to shed python skin and the bravest will be able to pet a snake. Guided by the fact that it is much easier to learn by using all senses, every weekend educators prepare something new that can be touched - from animals to interesting samples.
