The Zagreb Zoo is situated in the more than 200 years old Maksimir Park, almost in the city centre. This makes it the city’s favourite place for relaxation and entertainment. Visitors can see many species of animals from almost every continent – mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fishes and invertebrates. Additionally, the Zoo participates in many endangered species protection programs, offers its visitors various educational programs, organizes events, and offers everyone information about the animals and nature itself.
